Potty Charts

Well, we have been working on getting Austin potty trained and I think we are slowly getting there. He filled his firsy potty chart (which took about a month to fill) and he was so excited to go and get his first prize.

We have tried to make it a big deal when he goes that it is a little too big of a deal. When he goes he has to tell everyone whether he goes at great-grandpa's house, daddy's school, grandma and papa's house, etc. etc. The minute he is done he will run out where people are and say, "I went in your potty." It's really quite cute. His first prize was a set of plastic kid's golf clubs and of course his dad had a little influence on that one. He is so excited to go now (well - sometimes) and is doing really quite well. Hopefully here in the next little bit he will be completely potty trained. Is that wishful thinking? Good Job Austin! You are such a big boy!!!

It really is exhausting - hopefully the rest of my kids have an easier time.

Way to go Katie! We all know this is harder on you than Austin. He probably has been potty trained for a year or two and was just holding out for the prizes. Good Luck finishing. Maybe he can come teach Scottie a thing or two.

Congrats Austin (and Scott)!!!!
The same system is working for your dad at school, he's filled up his chart and we're so proud of him. Scott does the same thing when he's done using the bathroom, telling everyone about it, but as long as it gives him the encouragment to keep using the big boy potty we'll entertain him. He's progressed very well! Katie I don't know how you put up with potty training two boys at once, but more power to ya!!! You're a champ!!

Okay okay,
I have to retract that last statement, I can't take away from austin's achievement. I have to give him his props. I think the golf clubs were a GREAT idea, since his dad's not too shabby on the course. Austin will be the next Tiger Woods.. I'm calling it right now

Thanks for the condolences (I don't know how to spell that word), Brandon. It's a good thing Koen isn't old enough for this or else I would really have a hard time potty training 3 boys :) And thanks for helping Scott at school. Sometimes he needs reminders about going to the bathroom. I appreciate you being there for him when I can't. :)
