Girl's Getaway!!!

This past weekend, the Ulrich girls and I went on a little girl's getaway to Boise to do some shopping. It was a great time and we had some excellent laughs.

We started the weekend off with a stop in Twin Falls to go to the newly dedicated temple. It was beautiful and a very neat experience for me since I have only done sessions in 2 different temples. It was a great way to start off the weekend.

That night we stayed in a hotel in Boise and had a great time painting our toe nails and laughing some more. Even little Brielle got her nails done. It was super cute. Can you guess who's is who's?
The next day we went to the Boise Outlet Mall and this is Leisja and I before the shopping began.
Look at the success we had. The van was definitely loaded to the max.
Our hotel was just down the street from the Boise Temple. It would have been neat if we could have done a session there too, but there is only so much you can do when you time is limited. Thanks for a great weekend girls and the great laughs. And thanks Scott for letting me have some girl time.

So, Koen has been needing a trim around his ears for quite some time now and so I finally braved it. I couldn't really classify it as his 1st hair cut since I just did around his ears, but I wanted to take some pictures of the occasion and Scott wasn't around, so I asked Austin. And these are the pictures that he took. He did a great job and I think he has a little knack for photography. There were some where Koen's face wasn't even in the picture, but these were the good ones.

Back to life - back to reality . . .

Scott had to go back to school today - well I guess you can call it work too - I don't know! Anyways he started his rotations today with Doctor Soucie at the Blackfoot Medical Center. He was really excited to be able to actually be in the clinic/hospital setting and put the things he has learned to the test. Doesn't he look great? We are very sad to see the summer come to an end for us. We were able to play quite a bit that it's hard to be back to the regular lifestyle. We are excited for this upcoming year and nervous at the same time because we know it is going to be very time consuming and hard for Scott, but we will make it. Hopefully all goes well. Lookin' like the real deal, Scott!

Chapman Reunion

The weekend of the 16th, we had the Chapman Reunion (Scott's mom's side). It's always a great time! Deon and Cleon always put so much time and energy into making the reunion possible and we appreciate all of their hard work.

Uncle Cle is always so kind to bring out his little horse and let the kids have a little ride. Austin was scared for some reason this year. He rides it every year and he was just a little timid this time, but we finally got him on. We even got Koen to get on. He immediately went for the horse's hair and was about to put it in his mouth when Scott stopped him. He loved it though.
Deon put on another great scavenger and it was definitely a hit. We were teamed up with Tonya and her three boys. It was great to spend time with her and her kids and had a great time too! This is us at the Crisis Center taking a team photo (one of the requirements for the scavenger hunt).
One of the items on the list for the hunt was to get a tattoo. Austin being the rebel that he is, got a temporary tattoo and is so proud of it. He takes major pride in it!

5 YEARS!!!

Well, it's been 5 years since the glorious day that Scott and I were married.It was an amazing day and couldn't have been better. It's crazy to think that we have been married for 5 years already! It has flown by! These last 5 years have been perfect though. I have the best husband to spend all that time with. I am a little biast (spelling?) though!

We started the day off by attending the temple and doing baptisms for the dead with the youth of our ward. What a great way to start the day. It's always a great experience to do baptisms and to be in the temple with our youth. A couple of hours after we got back from the temple, Scott took me to dinner at Applebee's (one of my favorite restaurants). We enjoyed a wonderful dinner there and after that I had no idea what was going on. He tried to trick me into thinking we were going to Lava and kept throwing me in different directions as far as what we were doing and when it all came down to it, we ended up at the Black Swan Inn. I was so excited. I love that place! I still didn't know what room we were staying in though. As we are headed to our room, I notice that we are going to the Romeo and Juliet Suite. I was even more excited because that is my favorite room (from pictures anyway)! It was so beautiful in there. The pictures on the internet don't do the room justice. It was great!

Scott never seems to amaze me with his little surprises. He always acts like he forgot or that something comes up and then it really ends up being an amazing surprise. I want him to know how much I love him and am so grateful to have as my eternal companion and the father of my boys! He is so great and I couldn't ask for anyone better! I love you Scott! Thanks for a great anniversary get away! It was perfect!

Soccer . . . A Priority!

This summer Scott was invited to jump on one of the Idaho Falls League soccer teams. It was even the Blackfoot team. He really enjoyed it basically because he really enjoys playing soccer and because of the great teammates. Thanks to our Uncle Gary for inviting him and letting him play on your team.

Here he is in action. They are all teaming up on him - yikes! He seems to handle it really well.

We tried to go to as many games as we could. I think we only missed one or two from when he started playing on this league. It was really fun to go and watch him play and Austin loved being able to play with the other kids and run around on the grass. Koen just loved being outside.

Scott really enjoys soccer (if you couldn't tell) and I have learned to really love watching it. Austin wants to be just like his dad and "play soccer when he gets bigger", he says! Great job Scott! We love to watch you play!

Ulrich Reunion

Well, we had a great week with the extended Ulrich family at a reunion in Island Park. At the beginning of August we stayed at the Sawtell campground and had a great time. We really appreciate all the hard work and dedication that went into it and for all those that attended as well. It was a blast! It was a fun-filled week of food, laughter, and a whole lot of fun!

Scott took us to a fishing hole that seemed to be a good one, but not so much for the spectators. The mosquitos were so bad. We sat there for probably only 15-20 minutes and we all went back to the campsite with many mosquito bites. I think Keri won with 16+. She lost count after so many. The boys didn't catch anything (that we saw anyway). Austin loved walking around in the water and not getting wet. Scott is a trooper for taking Austin with him when he goes fishing.

Two of the days were spent on the lake. Scott's cousin, Eric brought his boat and was so kind to entertain us all day with it. This was a favorite tube especially for the kids. We were even able to con Austin into riding on it. This picture isn't the time he rode it, but he had a blast. I rode with him on my lap along with Lexia and two other kids. It was a great time and I think we can get Austin to do it more often.


Scott showed off his stuff and wowed everyone. He has still got it in him! He does a great job and gets better and better every year. Great job Scott!

Like father, Like son - need I say more?

Scott's mom put together a fantastic scavenger hunt and yes we were the winning team. We had a great time with Randy and Allison and their kids and got to know them a lot better during this. It was a great time and even better to come out on top. Way to go team!

A major hit of the reunion was the fishing pond that Gaye and Robert put together. The kids absolutely loved it. Everytime someone said, "It's time to go to the fishing pond" the kids went running as fast as they could to see what was in store from the fishies this time. Thanks so much for putting that together Gaye and Robert. The kids loved it!

Austin is really into what the other kid was getting at the fishing pond - patiently waiting his turn to see what the fishies had for him.

This is Jaxon Sumsion and his sweet mohawk. They had a little tot swimsuit contest and he won. Ever since this reunion, Austin has asked if he can have spiky hair.

It was a great week and we have Deon and Chuck Ulrich and Gaye and Robert Bluemel for putting all the time and energy into putting it together. Thank you so much! We had a blast!
